The number one question I get asked is how I ended up becoming an acupuncturist. There are many little facets of my life that lead me to my practice today. Mainly, it was experiencing this medicine firsthand that truly made me want to learn and share it.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has improved my quality of life in many ways. It has helped me with musculoskeletal injuries I stacked up over the nine years I spent commercial fishing in Alaska. It cleared up the mysterious and numerous skin rashes that plagued me since childhood. Today it continues to mend my outdoor activity induced injuries. It calms my nervous system when I feel overwhelmed and constantly inspires me to connect with my community, the environment and to live more seasonally.
What’s my treatment style?
If you ask any of my friends and family what I love doing, one response across the board would be hosting (if I’m not riding my bike). I love inviting people in, making them feel warm and welcome and caring for them. So whether it’s at one of the many dinner parties I have (missing those so much these days!) or in my studio giving treatments, I am in my happy place.
I listen to each person and then customize the treatment to meet their needs.
